NO HANDLE

In oneself lies the whole world and if you know how to look and learn, the door is there and the key is in your hand. Nobody on earth can give you either the key or the door to open, except yourself.
Jiddu Krishnamurti

In the coming year we will face many doors of opportunities. Some will have door knobs to grab and some will not? We have the keys now we must find the doors with knobs. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!

DAY DREAMING

Daydreaming
Ever see someone daydreaming and wonder where they have gone? Even today while having lunch with a friend she just took off in her thoughts and left our table. I’ve done it.
Wikipedia says, “Daydreaming may take the form of a train of thought, leading the daydreamer away from being aware of his or her immediate surroundings, and concentrating more and more on these new directions of thought.” Yep, that’s happened to me and to the woman in this photo. I can find myself roaming in thoughts when reading, in my prayer time or mediation. In the past it was looked down upon but today we have more acceptance of it, acknowledging that some creative artists use it to write their music or story or create their art. NPR even has their companion-blog titled Daydreaming.

I like this image because she is so focused in her thoughts. She does not seem distraught but peaceful. Did the book she was reading take her to some far off place of fantasy or are there situations in her life that keep her mind busy with the future or past?

FALLEN LEAFE

Art is not to be found by touring to Egypt, China, or Peru; if you cannot find it at your own door, you will never find it. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

peaceful place.....

Peaceful Place

I had not been to Inniswood Gardens in weeks and sure did miss it. I’m finding these Metro parks are vital to me. As I stepped out the car, I immediately felt a settling of my mind and realized just how long it had been since my last visit. Within the park there are so many places to snuggle into and call yours. They have placed benches and gazebos in different places throughout the park just for you. The birds and squirrels like to entertain you with their songs and antics as they enjoy life. So, my time there was peaceful.
